Ingredients

  • 1 breadfruit
  • 1 dessert spoon of salt
  • Water

Preparation method

  • Cut the fruit in half, remove all the peel, and cut into medium-sized cubes;
  • Place in a pot, cover with water and add salt;
  • Cook until tender, drain, and fry in hot oil.
  • Once it's nice and crispy, it's ready!
  • 2. Chicken cream with breadfruit

    Ingredients

    • 300g of chicken breast
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 2 tablespoons of garlic
    • 1 teaspoon of paprika
    • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
    • 1 chicken bouillon cube
    • 1 breadfruit
    • 1 onion
    • Salt
    • Black pepper
    • Green herbs
    • Water

    Preparation method

  • Peel the breadfruit, cut it into small cubes, and set aside;
  • Sauté half the garlic and half the onion, then add the paprika and a chopped tomato;
  • Add the fruit, salt, black pepper, and herbs;
  • Cook until softened, then, once cooled, blend in a blender. Set aside.
  • In a pan, sauté the diced chicken with the remaining onion and garlic;
  • Add the other tomato and the chicken broth;
  • Let it cook, then blend it in a blender;
  • Place both creams in a saucepan, mix well and adjust the salt;
  • Cook until thickened and creamy;
  • Serve while still hot!

    • 3 cups of breadfruit tea

    Preparation method

  • Peel the breadfruit, cut it into smaller pieces, and cook until very soft;
  • In a blender, combine the fruit, eggs, milk, and butter;
  • Pour into a serving dish, add the sugar and mix;
  • Next, add the wheat flour and mix well;
  • Finally, add the yeast and stir gently;
  • Transfer the dough to a greased baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for forty minutes.
  • 4. Breadfruit soup

    Ingredients

    • 300 g of dried meat
    • 4 cloves of garlic
    • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
    • 1 breadfruit
    • 1 onion
    • 1 bell pepper
    • 1 tomato
    • Annatto
    • Parsley
    • Salt
    • Water
    • Croutons

    Preparation method

  • Chop the meat into small pieces, remove the salt, and set aside;
  • Cut the fruit into medium-sized pieces, remove the peel, and cook until very soft;
  • Place in a blender along with the cooking water and blend well. Set aside.
  • In a pressure cooker, add the olive oil, meat, onion, garlic, and bell pepper and sauté;
  • Add the paprika, the tomato, a little water, cover and let it cook for fifteen minutes;
  • Release the pressure, pour in the whipped cream, and let it simmer for at least ten minutes;
  • Turn off the heat, add the parsley, and adjust the salt.
  • Serve with croutons.

    • 1 cup of parsley
    • 1 cup of milk
    • 1 carton of heavy cream
    • 1 breadfruit
    • Pepper

    Preparation method

  • Peel the breadfruit and cut it into large pieces;
  • In a pot of boiling water, place the fruit and cook until very soft;
  • Drain and then mash until it becomes a puree. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan, put the olive oil, half the butter and sauté the garlic;
  • Add the reserved puree, the milk, the remaining spices, and mix well;
  • Pour in the heavy cream and the remaining half of the butter, and stir until a smooth, creamy mixture forms.
  • 6. Breadfruit bread

    Ingredients

    • 2 eggs
    • 2 packets of bread yeast
    • 1 and 1/2 cups of cooked and mashed breadfruit
    • 1 cup of warm milk
    • 1 kg of wheat flour
    • 1 dessert spoon of salt
    • 2/3 cup of tea oil
    • 2/3 cup of sugar

    Preparation method

  • In a blender, combine the sugar, eggs, milk, oil, yeast, and a pinch of salt;
  • Add the fruit and blend a little more;
  • Transfer to a bowl and gradually add the wheat flour;
  • Knead until it starts to come away from your hands;
  • Cover the bowl with a cloth and let it sit in a dry, dark place for an hour;
  • After this time, knead the dough a little and divide it into three parts;
  • Shape the loaves, place them in a greased and floured baking pan, and let them rise for another forty minutes;
  • Next, bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for twenty-five minutes or until golden brown.
  • 7. Breadfruit and dried beef casserole

    Ingredients

    • 120 g of mayonnaise
    • 100 g of grated Parmesan cheese
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 2 onions
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 kg of breadfruit
    • 1 kg of dried, desalted meat
    • 1 can of cream with whey
    • 1 tablespoon of margarine
    • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
    • Salt
    • Bay leaves
    • Parsley
    • Scallion

    Preparation method

  • For the filling, sauté the onion in margarine, add the meat and cook with the tomatoes and chopped spices. Set aside.
  • For the frosting, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, add the egg yolks and beat again;
  • Add the mayonnaise, cheese, and baking powder, mix gently, and set aside.
  • Peel the fruit and cook it in salted water for fifteen minutes;

  • In a greased baking dish, place half of the dough, add the filling, and cover with the remaining dough.
  • Place the topping on top and bake in a preheated oven at 135°C for approximately forty minutes.
