Gevi 2024 Upgraded Dual Boiler Espresso Machine EzBru 2000 | 58mm Grouphead | Barista Level Steam Wand | Built-in Grinder With 31 Size Settings — Best Expresso Machines Under $2000 (Reviews) — walfosbrand.com

The Gevi Espresso Machine is an exceptional value for its price.

I’ve been honing my barista skills on it while preparing for the opening of my coffee shop in a few weeks. The dual boiler feature, combined with a spacious water tank, allows me to effortlessly pull shots while steaming and frothing milk simultaneously.

The built-in grinder performs reliably without the frequent jams I experienced with my previous machine. The noise level is quite manageable, and it comes with excellent accessories, including a highly effective milk wand. However, I’ve noticed that regardless of the grind size, the machine tends to prefer a slightly fuller portafilter than what the instructions suggest to achieve optimal pressure.

Using a dedicated espresso grinder that can produce finer grinds seems to resolve this issue. Overall, I am very pleased with this GEVI Expresso Machine, especially given its low price point and dual boiler capability. If it proves to be durable, I will be extremely satisfied, as I seek a dependable espresso machine for home use.

MY REVIEW

MAttinata Espresso Maker — Best Expresso Machines Under $2000 (Reviews) — walfosbrand.com

I normally brewed coffee, but after visiting my mom and trying her few grand costing coffee machine, I’d see what I could do with something within my budget.

Setup was easy, the espresso maker makes a decent cup of coffee, and the frother, container is pretty convenient and does a great job. I just pour straight sugar free creamer into that side milk reservoir, make my coffee, then place the container back into the fridge.

Just make sure the portion that dispenses the frothed creamer or milk is pointed towards the cup. I forgot one time, and doubt I’ll do that again.

3. GEVI Espresso Maker 20 Bar — Best Expresso Machines Under $2000 (Reviews) — walfosbrand.com

This Gevi Espresso Maker is a standout choice among affordable espresso machines, offering professional-grade features at a competitive price.

While it’s important to avoid comparing budget models to high-end machines, the Gevi excels within its category, delivering quality performance that surpasses other options in the same price range. After trying two other machines that failed to meet expectations — one lacking heat and the other pressure — I found the Gevi to be a reliable solution.

It produces decent espresso, and the newly designed milk frothing wand works exceptionally well for creating foam. Although it employs a similar pressure-increasing method as other budget machines, with the right grind and fresh beans, it consistently delivers satisfying results.

Additionally, I have a small Gevi drip coffee maker that has proven to be incredibly reliable over three years, providing hot coffee effortlessly day after day.

MY REVIEW

Breville the Barista Pro Espresso Machine with Grinder & Milk Frother, Espresso Maker with Seconds Heat Up, Cappuccino & Latte Machine for Home — Best Expresso Machines Under $2000 (Reviews) — walfosbrand.com

I waited about a year after getting this espresso maker, to make sure I used the machine enough to have an solid opinion. It works amazingly.

I use it every day — and have since I purchased it. The initial set up will take time, like any other good espresso machine. You’ll need to dial in your beans and find the right grind size, brew time, etc. I found a YouTube video and followed it to help me out. After that, I just began practicing every day with steaming the milk and after a while I was able to make the perfect drink for me. It has eliminated my daily coffee runs, I of course will still grab a coffee while I’m out running errands just for fun but the price of the machine has paid out for how much I use it.

The machine will tell you when to descale and when to flush based on how many pulls you are doing which is great. I bought extra tablets and will flush it probably once every 2 months and then descale it quarterly. All of the cleaning parts are fairly cheap on Amazon and breville has videos online to follow.

I clean the tray and steam wand weekly and found that soaking my wand in 1:2 white vinegar/hot water works the best for getting any scalded milk out of the nozzle and keeps it steaming perfectly. You can twist the nozzle off after soaking for an hour and use a straw cleaner to scrub the wand out. This helps eliminate blockages in the wand which I was having in the beginning after a couple weeks of use even after purging the wand after every use.

Everything comes apart really easily for cleaning and moving — I kept the original box and styrofoam for moving since I moved across the country and everything held up perfectly. I did end up purchasing a different tamp but the one that comes with it works fine I just preferred a heavier weighted one.

Overall, I highly recommend this Breville espresso machine, and will keep using the brand’s products if they are all built this well.

MY REVIEW

5. Gaggia Classic Evo Pro — Best Expresso Machines Under $2000 (Reviews) — walfosbrand.com

The first espresso machine I ever owned was the Starbucks barista that they sold in Starbucks stores years ago.

That machine was similar to this in that it only brews coffee and steams milk, no grinding. The next one I got was a fully automatic fully automatic DeLonghi magnifica. I had two of those over the years, bought the second one after the first one broke. Then the most recent one is the breville semi automatic which will grind coffee but you tamp and manually pull the shot.

Out of all those machines this one does the best shots. Not sure if it’s the machine or the fact that that I bought a separate grinder which might be higher quality than the ones contained in the fully automatic machines or semi-automatic ones. Im always surprised at the shots I am able to get with this machine, great looking shot after great looking shot. It makes pulling a shot more than just making a cup of coffee.

More like a hobby because it’s so fun to get that perfect three layered shot, and getting that beautiful three layered shot actually means your coffee will taste better. When I first got the machine I went through about a pound or two of coffee over several hours just pulling shot after shot dialing in the grind and the time and the weight until now just about every time I brew, with what I’ve learned, it’s a perfect shot. And as I already said when the espresso shot looks perfect the taste is absolutely better than when it doesn’t look ‘perfect’.

5. Gaggia Classic Evo Pro — Best Expresso Machines Under $2000 (Reviews) — walfosbrand.com

The other reason I got this machine is the fact that it is repairable. Out of the machines that I mentioned owning in the past, I’ve spent $3,000 or $4,000 over the years.

The fully automatic ones are not cheap and also a lot of times are not repairable so when it breaks you toss it out, ouch!

I kept my first broken DeLonghi fully automatic espresso machine out in the garage for about 5 years before I finally thought that it was time to fix it and upon taking it apart saw that it was never going to go back together. For one thing parts were not available and another thing even if I were it just would not have gone back together. Very cheap and unreliable on the inside.

This Gaggia espresso machine is easily serviceable by a professional or even a homeowner and very simple and high quality on the inside. I’ve read great reviews of people doing simple upgrades and fixes themselves. So for the price, this thing will last you a lifetime unlike the fully automatic things which cost about a grand or so, but will leave you high and dry in about 5 years.

How to Choose the Best Espresso Machine Under $2000

Determine Your Preferred Brewing Style

Espresso machines vary widely in their levels of automation and control. Decide if you want a manual, semi-automatic, or super-automatic machine. Manual machines offer full control but require practice, semi-automatics strike a balance between control and convenience, and super-automatics handle all steps from grinding to frothing.

Consider the Grinding Mechanism

Machines with built-in grinders, like the Breville Barista Pro, offer a convenient all-in-one solution. However, some espresso lovers prefer using a separate, high-quality grinder for maximum precision. Look for ceramic burr grinders, as they tend to last longer and retain flavor.

Evaluate Boiler Type and Temperature Control

Consistent temperature is key to great espresso. Machines with PID temperature control, such as the Rancilio Silvia, ensure stable brewing temperatures. Additionally, heat-exchange or dual boilers allow for simultaneous brewing and steaming, which is useful for those who enjoy milk-based drinks.

Look at the Steam Wand Quality

A good steam wand is essential for creating velvety microfoam, perfect for latte art and creamy textures. Machines with commercial-grade steam wands, like the Rocket Appartamento, offer more control over frothing, though some automatic systems are easier for beginners.

Maintenance and Cleaning Requirements

Consider the ease of cleaning and maintaining your espresso machine. Fully automatic models like the Jura D6 often include self-cleaning cycles, making maintenance simpler. For more hands-on machines, regular cdescaling and cleaning are necessary for optimal performance.

Consider these essential points to find an espresso machine under $2000 that suits your coffee preferences, and fits seamlessly into your daily routine.
