How to get to and around Trastevere?
You can reach Trastevere by bus (lines 23, 280, 780), by tram (Trastevere/Mastai stop, line 8) or on foot: the best way is to cross the beautiful Ponte Sisto . The metro does not reach this district.
Once there, the best means of transport to explore the neighbourhood is the most ecological and cheapest: your feet! Come on, don't be lazy, and you'll also have to burn off the calories you've taken in with pizza, pasta, tiramisu and ice cream, right?!
Where to sleep in Trastevere?
Trastevere is an ideal place to look for accommodation: it is just a stone's throw from the centre of Rome and the atmosphere of the district at night is super attractive. A tip: avoid the tourist menus. You may be fine with just one dish. Some great first courses are:
