We have left behind difficult years and our bodies know it, tourism has reactivated in a brutal way and now we want to go out and explore the world without worrying about tomorrow. Among all these places around the world, we will visit Asia, travel to the Deep South and there will be time to visit nearby destinations and remember that you don't have to go to the other side of the planet to enjoy authentic wonders! Some of these trips are the ones we have planned for our next year 2025, will we see you on any of them?
1. Sri Lanka
Few destinations are as complete as this little gem of the Indian Ocean , known as the teardrop of India. We recommend starting your trip with a route through the cultural cities of Anuradhapura , Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya , where you will learn more about the history and glorious past of Sri Lanka. The trip will take you to the wonderful highlands , where hills covered with tea fields, amazing natural landscapes, waterfalls and days surrounded by lush nature await you .
And of course, you have to finish on a high note with a few days of wild beaches and exciting excursions such as a whale watching boat trip in Mirissa . And speaking of animals... don't forget to include Yala National Park in your itinerary , where it is possible to have a very close encounter with leopards!

2. Baja California and Baja California Sur
One of the destinations to travel to in 2025 that we are particularly looking forward to is Baja California (and Baja California Sur) . In this land of mesmerizing contrasts, beaches with turquoise waters , vineyards in the Guadalupe Valley, the Vizcaíno Desert with its incredible variety of flora and fauna, the Valley of the Giants where you can flip out with its enormous cacti and, of course, Los Cabos with the Cabo San Lucas Arch, spectacular beaches and whale sightings await you.
In a region of Mexico that really catches our attention, I can't wait to go!

3. Friuli-Venezia Giulia
In 2023 we had the opportunity to collaborate with Friuli Venezia Giulia Tourism and we did a spectacular 4-day road trip : beaches, hills, mountains, villages, cities, art, culture, gastronomy, waterfalls, sanctuaries, vineyards... Wow, my land has it all !
It is a region at the foot of the Alps known for its natural beauty, its rich history and its fusion of cultures thanks to its geographical location close to Austria and Slovenia. And the best thing: it is a destination that is not yet too touristy and that, we are sure, is going to be a hit very soon , so you better go and enjoy it now!

4. Norway
Norway is one of our big travel plans , in fact we don't know why we haven't gone yet and it's killing us! Will 2025 be the year when we finally remedy our travel neglect? Hopefully, since some of the things that await us here look amazing: fjords that sculpt an overwhelming coastline, northern lights that draw cosmic paintings in the Arctic sky, cities with a Viking heritage , with little red houses and, ultimately, a unique and charming country.
And how can we forget one of the places we are most looking forward to visiting: the Lofoten Islands , a spectacular archipelago located in the north of the country, right in the Arctic Circle . These islands are decorated with majestic mountain peaks, white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters - a true wonder!
5. Ireland
Land of legends and myths, the Emerald Isle is another of the best destinations to travel to in 2025. We will definitely go, or so we hope, because, taking advantage of the fact that our cousin is doing Erasmus in Galway (when did she grow so much? ains), we will have to organize a family getaway to go see it, right?
We will use this excuse to plan a complete route that will take us to see the Cliffs of Moher , the pubs of Dublin (especially that one hehe), the Giant's Causeway , the Atlantic Coastal Route , castles like Blarney or Killarney National Park . So Ireland, see you soon!

6. Macedonia
The Balkans have been in vogue in recent years, that's undeniable. It all started with Croatia and its Game of Thrones locations, continued with the surprising Montenegro and 2023 was the year of Albania . So we're going to propose an original and not yet well-trodden destination : Macedonia.
It is honestly one of the strangest countries we have ever visited, starting with its capital, Skopje , where there are almost more statues than people. Another must-see site is the spectacular Lake Ohrid , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which dazzles with its clear waters and ancient Orthodox churches.
A trip through the country should also include a few days in the Mavrovo National Park and a visit to Bitola and Tetovo . Do you dare to give it a try?
7. Tunisia
Phoenician and Roman ruins , golden sandy beaches , souks where you can buy spices, fabrics and ceramics, and as icing on the cake, the immense Sahara Desert . If you are looking for an exotic adventure, just a couple of hours away, Tunisia is a safe bet.
From the eponymous capital Tunis to Carthage , passing through Djerba and the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said, this African country awaits you with open arms and a few adventures that await a protagonist. Will it be you?
We even considered it as the destination of the year to travel with Rober's family (there are 8-day tours at a very good price), although in the end we opted for Sri Lanka. But hey, who knows, we might do a 2×1 family package and end the year with a trip there.
8. Argentina
Seeing the Magellanic penguins at the End of the World , listening to the creaking of the Perito Moreno , dancing the tango (or watching others dance it), eating a barbecue , freaking out over the Iguazu Falls , exploring the desert landscapes of Salta and Jujuy , getting lost in the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires or visiting the crystal-clear lakes of Bariloche ... Seriously, we're increasingly looking forward to Argentina, and although we're not 100% sure about visiting it in 2025, we can see ourselves happy and content in that faraway land. Does that mean anything?
9. France
Another of the best destinations to travel to in 2025 is right next door. Yes, we're talking about France ! We always say it and we never do it, but this year we want to organize a really nice road trip that will take us to discover the south of the country, or the north, or the center. We are particularly interested in the Provence region (with its lavender fields, Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence or Arles) and Normandy ( Mont Saint-Michel, the cliffs of Etretat, the Castle of Caen, Rouen or the Gardens of Giverny).
Where will we go? Who knows! But hopefully 2025 will give us a few French adventures… oh la la!
10. Catalonia
And since we're here, we have to explore Catalonia ! The land that welcomed us a few years ago hides treasures of sublime beauty, not for nothing is it one of the most complete and fun in the whole country. And we're not just talking about natural spots, it's a mix of factors that makes us recommend Catalonia as an excellent getaway in 2025 (and forget about the controversies you see on TV and social media).
Some of the places to visit in Catalonia are the coastal villages of Tossa de Mar or Cadaqués , climbing Montserrat , going to the Dalí Museum in Figueres, spending a few days of rural tourism in Penedés , eating rice in the Ebro Delta or walking around the Pyrenees , which we have forgotten about! And hey, how can we forget our beloved Barcelona , for us the best city in the world, our home when we are not travelling.
