Honestly, just having constant access to croissants, crepes and chocolate waffles was enough for us. But if you can also enjoy these healthy and nutritious foods while looking out over Paris … you can’t ask for more, right? Well, yes, you can order a great article, with all the things to see and do in Paris.
The city of lights never rests, even at night the shadows seem to dance while lost souls seek refuge in a bar. Artists, adventurers, tourists and locals stroll through the cobbled streets, writing a story that flows like the current of the Seine . The Eiffel Tower, the bohemian district of Montmartre, the Champs Elysees or the Louvre are some of the silent witnesses of this work of art. How much beauty there is in the Country!

And we can tell you something in advance: it is not difficult to fall in love with the “ je ne sais quoi ” of the French capital. We have visited it on several occasions and we always leave with more reasons to return.
What to see and do in Paris
In this post we are going to tell you about emblematic places that we all know without having set foot in them yet (hello Eiffel Tower, hello Arc de Triomphe…) and about more original places that don’t appear in typical travel guides. Here are the 25 places that, in our opinion, you should add to your list of “things to do in Paris”.
Ready? Let's go 🙂
⭐ Before you start, don't forget to write down all our tips for traveling to Paris and not screwing it up.

1. Eiffel Tower
Why start with anything else? It is the unmistakable symbol to see in Paris , the most touristic place in the city and with much merit! We went up to the top floor at night and almost had a fit: gosh, how it moved. But when the lights suddenly started to flicker like distant shooting stars (more like a kitsch disco from the 80s), we understood that it was going to be an unforgettable moment.
Although today it is the symbol of France, at the time many criticised it, calling it monstrous. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel and his team for the Universal Exhibition of 1889. At 330 metres high , it was the tallest structure in the world until 1930.
The Eiffel Tower is one of the 10 must-see places to visit in Paris , so it is advisable to book in advance. Check their official website and if there is no availability for your dates, you can always buy your Eiffel Tower ticket at any time here .

Best views of the Eiffel Tower
If you want to take a PRO photo with the Eiffel Tower, write down these locations to have the best views of the Eiffel Tower:
Champ de Mars Gardens
Rue de l'Université (best in the morning when you won't have the sun against you)
Rue de Buenos Aires (search Castel Café on Google) in the afternoon the views are gorgeous (and without the sun ruining the photo hehe
Camoens Avenue (from the Monument to Luis de Camoens)
Jena Bridge
New York Avenue
Bir Hakeim Bridge
The Recruitment Café
Debilly catwalk
2. Trocadero Gardens
While climbing the tower is quite an experience, it's certainly worth seeing it in all its glory . And you can do just that from the Jardins de Trocadero. Strategically located in front of the tower, these gardens provide a perfect platform to admire and photograph the structure in all its glory. It's possibly the best place for your Instagram-proof selfies.
Curiosity: they are called this to commemorate the Battle of Trocadero , which took place on the island of the same name, in the Bay of Cádiz.

The most peculiar thing is that Sylvia Beach, the owner of this bookstore founded on November 19, 1919 , was the first to decide to publish the monumental work "Ulysses" by James Joyce .

24. The Invalids
Another place to see in Paris is the architectural complex of “ Les Invalides ”, officially known as the “Hôtel des Invalides” . It is an architectural complex that was built in the 17th century (under the order of King Louis XIV ) with the purpose of being a hospital and residence for disabled military veterans.
Today, it houses an army museum , which features an impressive collection of weapons, armour and artefacts relating to France's rich military history. Another notable attraction at Les Invalides is the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte , located in a crypt. It was not always like this: until 1840, the remains were on the island of Saint Helena (Italy), where he spent his last days in exile.
25. Excursion to Disneyland Paris
We're not lying when we say that the best thing to do in Paris with kids isn't technically in Paris. But it's very close: we're obviously talking about Disneyland Paris , the dream of any little one (and not so little one).

More things to see in Paris
Of course, there are many more places to see in Paris and great things to do. Here are some examples (and we are sure we have left something out):
Visit the Grand Mosque and have a fresh and delicious mint tea in the blue courtyard.
Watch the sunset from the Pont des Arts .
Visit Place des Vosges , the oldest square in Paris, where Victor Hugo's house is also located.
Views from the Montparnasse Tower . Info and prices here.
See the Grand Palais , the largest glass and steel structure in the world.
And the nearby Small Palace , which many call the little Louvre.
Visit the Luxembourg Palace and Gardens
And the beautiful basilica of Saint-Denis .
Rue du Chat qui Pêche , the narrowest street in Paris.
Place de la Bastille , where the French Revolution began.
Take a photo of the famous art nouveau signs in the metro
This last time in Paris we stayed north of Le Marais , in the Porte-Saint-Martin district , which we absolutely loved. It has a great atmosphere and a very lively canal area (Quai de Valmy). A great plan is to get a pizza (forgive this hopeless Italian, but hey, you can get crepes too), some beers and sit on the edge of the canal like a Parisian.
Cross the Alexandre III bridge , the most beautiful in the city.
Stroll through the fruit and vegetable markets . And if you're hungry, visit some of the markets with food stalls such as the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the Marché Bastille or the Marché Biologique Raspail. And speaking of markets, you can't miss the flower market on Place Louis-Lépine . Without a doubt one of the most photogenic spots in the City of Lights.
Discover the most modern Paris in the La Défense district and stroll under the Arc de la Defense .
Go to the Père Lachaise cemetery.
Discover the less touristy side of Paris in the Batignolles district .
Stroll through Le Marais , one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Paris.
We have reached the end of the article and we hope that you are already packing your suitcase to discover Paris with your own eyes. You have already seen that the City of Light is full of wonders that capture the imagination but are even more surprising when you finally see them. The Eiffel Tower , which towers imposingly over the city, to the bohemian charm of Montmartre , the corridors of the Louvre or the little squares in the centre… there is a lot of Paris to discover!
Do you know more things to see and do in Paris ? Leave us a comment as we would love to expand the list 🙂
